My Background:
Returning to her undergraduate and graduate alma mater, Sam is a visiting lecturer at the IU School of Social Work, Bloomington campus, where she enjoys teaching and mentoring students aspiring to become social workers. She also serves as a field instructor for MSW practicum students. Currently, Sam works as a social worker in the hospice field, specializing in grief and loss. With six years of experience, she is a Certified Grief Specialist and provides consultation and oversight to the Psychosocial and Support Division of a local hospice agency as the Director. Her career in social service began in 2006 with the Indiana Department of Corrections, working in both juvenile and adult corrections. In 2010, she transitioned to the Department of Child Services (DCS), focusing on training delivery, curriculum development, and case management practice through the DCS/IUSSW Child Welfare Education and Training Partnership.
About Me:
Sam lives in Morgan County in a lake community, enjoying self-care activities such as boating, floating, and gardening with her loving spouse, Richard. They have a blended family with seven children, two grandchildren, five dogs, three cats, and one bird.
